The brief for this project was to create a personal, luxurious yet simplistic style for the client’s new Repulse Bay apartment. The owners had a selection of furniture with some art pieces and required assistance with layouts, further furniture purchases and art selections without changing the existing floorplan of the apartment design.
It became clear from speaking to the client that they had converging tastes: One veered more to minimalism whilst the other liked styles that were more exuberant or playful. The design style we chose was therefore simplistic, with touches of fun, colour and a hint of maximalism.
A mix of both modern furniture and antiques is mixed with art. Fabrics and patterns from Africa and Morocco sit together with modern fabrics. The resultant style is comfortable yet, classic, simplistic yet fun and unexpected.
I assisted in antique furniture selection as well as several of the art pieces. We also curated these pieces in selected areas such as the bedroom.
The following pages will showcase the resultant interior design changes.
